Chief Minister Nitish Kumar graced the inauguration of the Valmiki Mahotsav in Valmiki Nagar today. The festival, celebrated from 3 to 9 pm, showcases cultural programs featuring local artists, Bhojpuri celebrities, and other renowned performers. The event aims to promote the rich cultural heritage of Bihar and attract tourists to the region. 

Holi Special Vande Bharat Express Commences Between New Delhi and Patna

To accommodate the surge in travelers during Holi, Indian Railways has introduced a special Vande Bharat Express service between New Delhi and Patna. Operating from March 8 to March 21, this service aims to provide passengers with a comfortable and swift journey. In addition to this, 14 other special trains have been scheduled on routes including Delhi-Bhagalpur, New Delhi-Gaya, and Anand Vihar-Muzaffarpur. 

Yellow Alert Issued for Thunderstorms and Lightning

The Patna Meteorological Centre has issued a yellow alert for six districts, including Patna, forecasting thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty winds on March 8. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions and stay updated on weather developments. 

National Lok Adalat Held in Patna

A National Lok Adalat was organized across six courts in Patna district today, aiming to expedite the resolution of pending cases. The initiative provided litigants an opportunity for amicable settlements without incurring additional costs. 

First Unit of Buxar Thermal Power Plant Set to Operate This Month

The first unit of the 1320MW Buxar thermal power plant, located in Chausa village, is scheduled to commence operations this March. This development is expected to bolster the state's power infrastructure significantly. 

Upcoming Election for Biscomaun Chairman

🛫 Ahmedabad Plane Crash 2025: Full Report on Air India Flight AI171 Tragedy 💔

📌 What Happened?

On 12 June 2025, Air India Flight AI171 crashed shortly after takeoff from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner lost altitude and collided with the BJ Medical College hostel building just moments after becoming airborne.

The plane was carrying 242 people – including 230 passengers and 12 crew members. The crash caused a massive explosion and fire that resulted in devastation both onboard and on the ground.

  • Total Fatalities: 260
  • ➡️ Onboard Deaths: 241
  • ➡️ Ground Deaths: 19
  • Injured: 60+ ground injuries reported
  • Survivor: Only one – a British Indian passenger in seat 11A, now recovering in the hospital

📋 DNA Identification & Victim Support

All 260 bodies were identified using DNA profiling. The last body was released on 27 June to the family of Anil Khimani, a 32-year-old Gujarat-based tech consultant.

The government provided counseling and financial support to the victim families. Many were flown in from the UK, Canada, and other countries to claim remains.

🔍 Investigation & Possible Causes

The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) of India is leading the investigation. Black box data was recovered and is under analysis. Several possibilities are being explored:

  • 🛠️ Engine thrust failure or imbalance
  • 🧭 Landing gear or flap configuration issues
  • 🔥 High temperature (~40°C) reducing lift performance
  • ⚠️ Possibility of sabotage – not ruled out

CCTV footage shows the plane climbing slightly and then descending tail-first before crashing. It hit the residential block during peak lunch hours.

🌐 International Attention & Controversy

India reportedly denied access to a UN aviation safety investigator, choosing to keep the investigation local under the AAIB. However, U.S. agencies like NTSB and GE Aerospace (the engine maker) are assisting in analyzing technical data.

The decision to refuse external observation sparked debate over investigation transparency and accountability.
